4.0 out of 5 stars A Mixed Bag..!!

After using for a day...!!
Build quality: A typical Nokia product. In hand feel is good. The back panel looks so much good. Looks awesome.
Display: It's doesn't look like a 720p display at all. The overall experience with a 90hz refresh rate is smooth and punchy. But content watching like videos on YouTube may feel little dull.
Camera: The 50mp back camera is like 50/50. Sometimes it's good, sometimes it's average. I haven't tested the 2mp cameras. 8mp front camera is below average. Camera app has some cool features. Use GCam for a good result. Picture quality will be improved drastically especially the front camera.
Speaker: The single bottom firing speaker is loud and has good level of vocal details. But misses the bass. Overall average. It has a feature call boost volume which will increase the volume upto 10%. The earpiece is top quality. Wired earphone output is good. I've used Nokia earphones and quality is good. Also used Noise tws and got a decent output, no issues here.
Software: Clean Android 13 with some pre installed app which is uninstallable.
Overall a good phone in this price range. 5G bands only n28 and n78 available. Airtel 5G is working fine, don't know about Jio. Compass sensor is missing. I've also attached some shots taken with Nokia G42 5G. Charging the battery will take 1hr45mins from 20% to 100%.

4.0 out of 5 stars Processor and Battery: Device's Prowess, Screen and Design are not.
Reviewed in India on 4 December 2023
Colour: PurpleSize: 6 GB + 128 GBVerified Purchase
Used this phone for over a month now, here are pros and cons:
Pros
1. Decent Battery, with minimal use 3 days backup, moderate use 2 days backup, heavy use 1 Day backup.
2. Process handling, It can handle games like COD mobile and Genshin Impact and warms up, doesn't heat.
Cons
1. Aesthetics feel awful, the back is purple, it looks good, really. But the side is colored grey/silver and feels out of place. Yes I had to include this
2. The screen is weird, you can not get a single tampered glass to fit on it perfectly. they do not adhere to the edges of the screen and this is definitely a problem with the screen, not tampered glass.
3. Update made the fingerprint sensor misbehave so I had to restart the phone and register fingerprint again for it to work again.
4. Camera quality with dim light, nothing to brag about, even my Nokia 5.1 plus from 5 years ago took far decent photos than this "50 MP AI cam". In VERY bright light I can say yep, its really good.
5. UI is extremely restrictive, I wonder if that's just with one UI or all Android 13 devices. You can not customize much.
6. Installs bloatware when you first connect to the internet even though it was mentioned somewhere that you only get stock android, or I probably mixed a few things idk?
7. Side mounted fingerprint sensor is annoying. Its placement makes it harder to avoid unlocking the device when you are trying to lift it up or shove it in your pocket.
8. Its too big, doesn't fit in most pockets, due to large screen size, UI looks pretty ugly. Specially due to the large margins for each icon/ element in Android 13 it looks awfully hideous. On that note, I must mention that it even fell once out of my pocket, 2.5 feet height may be? I had tampered on, no damage on anything though. I was using a wired headphone that got stuck somewhere and funnily, instead of the headphones falling down, it was the phone that leapt out.
9. The camera at one side raises it from that side so it is wobbly when sitting on a plane surface.
10. Things not mentioned are just average as you get in any 8-10K phone.
Conclusion: This phone has a LOT of design flaws, they tried but failed. I would say it is priced OK given the CPU which I really liked and the battery life which is awesome as well. You can get a better phone at the same price, its just that, being Nokia, it is probably more durable than the others at the same price. So if you are looking for a phone that you can throw in frustration (not too hard), play high end games (not too high end, and not keep a lot of them at the same time), don't care about the camera or photo quality, need long lasting battery and are ready to pay a price which this device is unworthy for, then go for it. Otherwise there are decent alternatives available with only one concern with them, built quality.
